David Cavossa
Founder and CEO of Looper

Mr. Cavossa is the Founder, CEO, and ‘Chief Caddie Master’ for LOOPER-GOLF LLC. He is a life-long golfer and caddied for his father as a teen. He believes all golfers should have the option of taking a caddie at any course they play, on any day, for a reasonable price. He is also committed to growing the game of golf with the critical 14-20- year-old age group which the golf industry is currently working to attract. Cavossa has led small, medium and large businesses during his 15 years in the telecom industry. During his eight years at Harris/CapRock Communications Mr. Cavossa served in multiple leadership roles. Most recently he was Vice President, General Manager of Harris CapRock Government Solutions business unit where he oversaw the direction and growth of a $200M+ business. Prior to his role at VP and General Manager Mr. Cavossa served as VP, Sales and Business Development, as well as VP, Operations and VP, Government Affairs at Harris/CapRock during his time with the company and throughout three mergers and acquisitions. Previously, Mr. Cavossa spent six years at the Satellite Industry Association (SIA), where he led the small trade organization as Executive Director.

Jacob Ward

Jake's career has led him to all corners of the innovation industry, including as the founder and CEO of the Apps Alliance and DevMode Strategies, but his obsession with golf takes him to the course as often as possible. Because the most inspired ideas are always at the intersection of experience and passion and most frequently brought to life by groups of people spurring each other on, Jake is a proud co-founder and consumer of Looper offering marketing advice, technical expertise, and moral support as a great idea developers into a great service and an even better company. Jake is a graduate of Wheaton College and Northeastern University and lives in the Washington D.C. area.


         

         

Mike Aldrich

Mike believes that recreation is vital for human fulfillment, that golf is one of the great forms of recreation, and that golf is best experienced with a caddie on your bag. Mike is a PGA Certified Member, a status that less than 1% of PGA Members have achieved. Mike started playing golf in his hometown of West Hartford CT at 7 years old with his father and grandfather. He birdied his 6th hole of golf to kick off his competitive golf career. Mike worked as a green-grass PGA Professional for 20 years, with a track record of driving participation and revenue. Five years ago, Mike was hired by the PGA of America to consult with his fellow PGA Professionals and help them increase consumer engagement in the game of golf.

Jimmy Ervin

Jimmy Ervin has over 20 years of experience in the marketing and communications industry. He began his career on the client-side while serving as Vice President of Communications for a national franchise company. In 2003 Mr. Ervin founded Velocity, a sales and marketing consultancy, which assists brands with experiential marketing and strategic growth programs. Mr. Ervin holds a BA in Economics from the College of William & Mary; and is active in the event marketing industry serving on the board of the Corporate Event Marketing Association and as a speaker at local universities. He is passionate about supporting youth focused causes and works with many organizations dedicated to youth initiatives including the Tiger Woods Foundation, The Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy and Spark the Wave. Mr. Ervin is a lifelong golfer and lives in Washington, DC with his wife and three children.

Kurt Thompson

Kurt is an entrepreneur’s, entrepreneur. Throughout his career, he has excelled at strategy, entrepreneurship, business planning, operations, and raising money. Kurt has a background as a business owner, entrepreneur and finance professional. His expertise is in properly capitalizing a company from startup thru expansion. He has expertise in both for-profit and non-profit environments; understanding the key role of economic development in local communities. Kurt holds a BA in History, Political Science and Economics from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, and an Executive MBA from the University of St. Thomas Opus College of Business in Minneapolis. He is also a graduate of the Kauffman FastTrak, with a certificate in Entrepreneurial Studies. Kurt enjoys all outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, and boating. He looks forward to several annual trips to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness where he can enjoy the quiet, unspoiled wilderness as it was intended to be.

Paul Ratcliffe

Paul is an experienced Corporate, Intellectual Property, and Litigation Counsel delivering critical legal advice and guidance to individuals and companies of all sizes.  He primarily counsels technology companies in the areas of complex agreements, dispute resolution, software licensing, joint developments, patent and trademark prosecution and development, technology in and out licensing, partnerships, brand management, IP Plans and implementations, and IP legal strategies. Paul has had several entrepreneurial ventures as he was the CEO & Co-founder of Invequity Inc and CEO/COO of Patents.com. He also served as an adjunct professor with the Catholic University Columbus School of Law which also happens to be his alma-mater.

Michael Sramek graduated from Princeton University in 1995 and then attended Vanderbilt University in 2000 for his MBA. Following his undergraduate, Michael worked as an Associate of Plan Sponsor Services at BARRA/RogersCasey. After earning his MBA, Michael moved onto work at Mastrapasqua & Associates as a Research Analyst. The following year in 2001, Michael moved to Sands Capital where he is a Senior Portfolio Manager/Research Analyst/Managing Director. While at Princeton, Michael was a part of the Golf Team. He continues to play golf and initially was a customer for Looper, but then decided to become more involved as an investor.

Manny Fitgerald

Manny Fitzgerald founded and leads CBRE's Nonprofit Practice Group. CBRE is a Fortune 500 company and the world's largest commercial real estate services firm. Manny specializes in working on large nonprofit headquarters assignments and has been involved in some of the most high profile lease and sale transactions in the Washington DC area. Mr. Fitzgerald is a native Washingtonian and caddied at Burning Tree Club when he was a teenager. Burning Tree had, and continues to have, a highly respected caddy program. Manny cherishes his caddy experience and thinks it offers young people important life lessons, discipline and healthy exercise in addition to the opportunity to earn money.

Steve Maynard

Steve Maynard brings a lifetime of golf industry experience to the LOOPER Advisory Board. After caddying extensively as a teenager, playing college golf at the University of Tennessee, and working as Assistant Golf Professional at Baltusrol Golf Club, Mr. Maynard joined FootJoy in 1984. Mr. Maynard's 32-year decorated sales career with FootJoy included Sales Representation in Ohio, New Jersey, and the Carolinas. Mr. Maynard also served 10 years as a member of the FootJoy Sales Management Team which included extensive work with National Accounts and Management Group Accounts.

Marc Haddad

Marc Haddad is considered by many sports business leaders to be one of the industry’s leading authorities on sports marketing and youth sports programming. Having worked in both a hands-on capacity in instruction and the corporate office, he possesses a vast knowledge of what it takes to succeed in this fast-paced and ever evolving sports industry. In 2013, Haddad launched H5 Sports Group, a sports and marketing consulting firm, which is also the owner/operator of PGA Junior Golf Camps. Prior to establishing H5 Sports Group, Haddad was integral in the growth of the Nike Golf Schools & Junior Camps. Haddad’s background also includes working with the PGA TOUR when he joined PGA TOUR Experiences in 2010. After being approached by the PGA of America to discuss a possible partnership and at the conclusion of extensive meetings, proposals and board approval, H5 Sports Group was granted the license to operate youth golf camps under the PGA of America brand.
